The Center for Career Development (CCD) performs the following activities:

1 Organizing Mock Interview: CCD organized a semester-wise mock interview for the students of the last semester, starting in Fall 2013. Interviewers discover the mistakes and give feedback to the students during the interview. Each interview board (2 interviewers from corporate sectors/ GUB) conducts a daylong interview session with 15-20 students.
2 Organising Group Presentation: Semester-wise group presentations have been organized since the summer semester of 2015. Nine to twelve outgoing students generally form a group, and 30 to 35 (10 to 12 tests per semester) presentation tests have been arranged each year. Instructors (2/3 GUB faculty members from different departments) conduct the session and give feedback to the participants.
3 Organising seminar/ workshop: Seminars (conducted by professional trainers, corporate leaders, and GUB experienced professionals) on particular job sectors, career development, higher study, etc., have been organised on a semester basis.
4 Organising grooming/ classroom session: Conducting and organising grooming sessions (as per demand) for a particular job sector, job positions, and skill development is a regular initiative for GUB students.
5 Circulation: Publishing various circulars (Job, higher study, training, workshop, etc.) on a semester basis through online & offline.
6 Career Counselling: Arranging career counselling sessions (one-to-one or through workshop/ training) on career development, a particular job sector, etc.
7 Maintaining Alumni Association: Collaborate on developing an alumni database to help students connect with alumni for career exploration. Communicate annually with the Alumni Association to share student hiring data and survey results and inform and update them on services and programs offered through Career Services.
8 Integrate technology to improve student service delivery: Develop and implement a strategy for creating new career videos for students and a strategy for helping students gain proficiency in utilizing social media and new technologies in the job search.
9 Job and Internship: CCD established and maintains good relationships with employers in various industries to help students find internships, part-time, and full-time opportunities.

Successful Conduct of Interviews for Unpaid Intern Positions at CCD

The interview for the position of Unpaid Intern at the Centre for Career Development (CCD), Green University of Bangladesh, was successfully conducted on Wednesday, 24th September 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in Room 306 and Room 208, Green University of Bangladesh. Successful completion of online Grooming Session for Job/Internship opportunities at US-Bangla Group
The Center for Career Development (CCD) of Green University of Bangladesh recently conducted a grooming session focused on interview preparation for job and internship opportunities at US-Bangla Group on August 20, 21, and 22, 2025.
Over 130 students actively participated in these sessions, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and commitment. Additionally, a total of 723 students submitted their resumes for job opportunities at US-Bangla Group, highlighting the strong interest in this prestigious opportunity.
The grooming session was divided into the following four modules, each led by esteemed facilitators from the CCD: Email Writing Test, facilitated by Dr. Serajum Munira, Director, CCD; Excel Test, facilitated by Mr. Sourav Barua, Assistant Director, CCD; Aptitude Test, facilited by Mr. M. K. Anamul Hoque, Office, CCD; Memory Test, facilited by Tauhida Alam, Office, CCD.
The facilitators warmly responded to students’ questions regarding the recruitment process, job roles, and exam strategies, creating a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere.

 

Successful Completion of Seminar on Professional CV Writing! Build a Resume that Opens Doors

Center for Career Development has successfully arranged a seminar titled “Professional CV Writing! Build a Resume that Opens Doors” on Wednesday, 20th of August, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Seminar Hall of Green University of Bangladesh. This Seminar brought together students and professionals eager to enhance their career prospects through effective CV writing techniques.

The program commenced with a welcoming speech by Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of the Centre for Career Development. The entire program was facilitated by Md. Ali Ahsan, PhD, as a Keynote Speaker who is the Senior Manager (HRBP) of Honda Power Products. It was a two-hour session in which the keynote speaker, Md. Ali Ahsan, PhD, discussed the importance of a good CV in successfully landing a job.

Md. Ali Ahsan, PhD, provided valuable insights on several important aspects of job applications, including the type of CV that hiring managers seek, the distinction between a CV and a resume, and how to create a career objective tailored to the specific job role.

Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, the Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh; Mr. Sourav Barua, the Assistant Director of CCD; and officials from CCD, along with faculty members from various disciplines, attended the seminar. More than 50+ students from eight departments participated in the event. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker, who responded spontaneously and shared his insights.

Finally, the Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, concluded by emphasizing that this program will teach students how to create an industry-standard CV and highlight the key areas that HR managers consider when recruiting employees.

The Center for Career Development (CCD) of Green University of Bangladesh conducted a grooming session focused on interview preparation for the job opportunity at SEBPO on Thursday, 14 August 2025. Dr. Serajum Munira, the Director of the Center for Career Development (CCD), was the keynote facilitator for the session.
Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of CCD, delivered a comprehensive and interactive session that equipped participants with essential tools and strategies to succeed in SEBPO’s recruitment process. The main points of discussion included: Overview of SEBPO’s Recruitment Process, Resume and Cover Letter Preparation, Effective Interview Techniques, Professional Etiquette, and Communication.
During the Q&A segment, Dr. Serajum Munira enthusiastically addressed all the questions from participants. A total of 40+ students joined the online grooming session.

Successful Completion of Seminar on Gateway to Japan: Higher Education and Career Prospects for Bangladeshi Students

Center for Career Development (CCD) and the Center for Language and Cultural Studies (CLCS) jointly arranged a successful seminar titled “Gateway to Japan: Higher Education and Career Prospects for Bangladeshi Students” on Monday, July 07, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Seminar Hall of Green University of Bangladesh.

The program commenced with a welcoming speech by Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of the Center for Career Development. It was facilitated by Yamamoto Kyohei, Second Secretary and Deputy Head of the Public Relations & Culture Section at the Embassy of Japan, and Dr. Afsana Kawsar, Education Advisor at the Embassy of Japan.

Dr. Afsana Kawsar highlighted the importance of the MEXT Scholarship and other scholarships for pursuing higher education. Yamamoto Kyohei discussed job opportunities in Japan and the prospects they offer. He outlined the job selection process and provided guidance on how to apply for a job.

The seminar was attended by the Honorable Vice Chancellor and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, and Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed. Successful Completion of MoU Signing Ceremony with Good News Global & Geo Bangla

An industrial-academic collaboration was signed between Green University and Good News Global, organized by the Center for Career Development at Green University of Bangladesh. This collaboration is committed to providing students with a pathway to employment, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.

The ceremony took place on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Room of Vice Chancellor (401) of Green University of Bangladesh. Capt. Captain (Navy) S M Salahuddin (LPR), Registrar, GUB, and Md. Mohsin Ali, Managing Director and Chief Editor, Good News Global & Geo Bangla TV, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Arrangement of Online Screening Interview

To enhance students’ job readiness for the position of Customer Support Executive at Top Asset, the Office of CCD has arranged an online screening interview on May 13, 2025. This initiative evaluated the students’ preparation for the interview, communication skills, and overall performance in a simulated exam environment.

Viva examination witnessed the participation of 20 eager candidates, each keen to demonstrate their abilities. The session was conducted by Dr. Sirajum Munira, the esteemed Center for Career Development Director, who skillfully facilitated the exam.

This online viva exam was a vital component of the CV selection process, designed to meet the specific needs of a leading organization in Bangladesh. The examination occurred from 9:20 AM to 1:00 PM, creating an engaging atmosphere where students could enhance their skills and gain confidence for their future careers

Seminar on “Floriculture: An Eco-Friendly and Profitable Agri-Business”

Flowers are utilised for a variety of purposes around the world. They serve as decorative elements and ways to welcome guests and possess medicinal properties. Flowers are cultivated in numerous countries, including Bangladesh. Recently, a seminar titled “Floriculture: An Eco-Friendly and Profitable Agri-Business” was held on May 3, 2025, organised by the Centre for Career Development at Green University of Bangladesh.

Dr. Farzana Nasrin Khan, the Head of the Floriculture Division at the Horticulture Research Centre under the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), was the main speaker. During the seminar, she shared valuable research insights on flowers and highlighted effective methods for successful flower cultivation, emphasising their significance. The seminar’s students enthusiastically participated, discussing various topics with Dr. Khan.

Dr. Sirajum Munira, the Honourable Director of the Centre for Career Development, and other faculty members were also present. The director of the Center for Career Development handed Dr. Farjana Nasrin Khan a crest as a token of appreciation. After the seminar, the chief and visiting guests were photographed with the students.

Seminar on  “Step into Wellness: The Power of Walking for Body and Mind”

The Center for Career Development has successfully arranged a seminar titled “Step into Wellness: The Power of Walking for Body and Mind” on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the Seminar Hall of Green University of Bangladesh.

The program was inaugurated with a welcoming speech from Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, the Vice Chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh. On April 26th, Prof. Dr. Anupam Hossain will be the keynote speaker and the Public Health & Communication Specialist. 

It was a one-and-a-half-hour session in which the facilitator discussed the importance of walking and its health benefits. He also illuminated some non-communicable diseases, including Cardiac disease, diabetes, and mental health conditions, that are caused by a lack of walking.

More than 100 students from ten (10) departments attended the event. Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of CCD, and Mr. Sourav Barua, Assistant Director of CCD, were also present throughout the session, along with a few members from the Green Alumni Committee.

Seminar on “AI for Future Leaders”

Artificial intelligence (AI) is experiencing a global surge, with a notable increase in its application in corporate offices. On April 19, 2025, a workshop on AI was held at the Green University of Bangladesh. The Centre for Career Development at Green University of Bangladesh organised the seminar with support from Netcom Learning. Approximately 60 students from various departments participated in the seminar.

The seminar speakers included Abdur Rahman Mamun, Head of Partnerships at Netcom Learning, and Mr. Imdadul Islam, Business Development Manager. They discussed AI’s advantages and benefits, emphasising its growing importance in corporate environments.

Successful completion of Industrial Visit to Assurer at Work Ltd. 

An industrial tour has been arranged jointly with the Department of Textile and the Office of the Center for Career Development to Assurer at Work Limited on 15th March 2025 at 11:00 am. The main objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practices by providing students with valuable real-world exposure to the Textile industry. During an industrial visit, event scheduling, sponsorship acquisition, and student participation have been discussed. According to the MoU, the director of Assurer at Work Limited focuses on offering internship positions across various departments, ensuring hands-on learning opportunities for students.

Seminar on Career Opportunities in Japan & Excellence in Japanese Language Learning

On March 5, 2025, the Center for Language and Cultural Studies and the Center for Career Development jointly arranged a seminar on career opportunities and the Japanese language at Green University of Bangladesh. The seminar took place in the university’s seminar hall, and the keynote speaker was MD Masudur Rahman, Managing Director of QA Harbour Limited.

During his presentation, MD Masudur Rahman discussed Japan’s culture, language, traditions, and prospects for higher education and employment. He emphasised the significance of learning the Japanese language, stating that it is a means of communication and a valuable tool for building a successful career in Japan.

The Honourable Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin, noted the importance of Japanese language education and encouraged students to focus on this area.

The Honourable Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Director of the Center for Career Development, Dr. Sirajum Munira, Assistant Director, Mr. Sourav Barua, and Officers M. K. Anamul Hoque and Touhid Sultana attended the seminar.

Workshop on  “Face the Interview with US Bangla Group: Demonstration & Feedback Session”

The Office of CCD successfully organised a seminar titled “Face the Interview with US Bangla Group: Demonstration & Feedback session” on 1 March 2025 for aspiring job-seeking graduates of Green University of Bangladesh. The seminar was particularly arranged for those who are actively seeking a career at US Bangla Group.

The event started at 10:30 am in the Syndicate Room of the University and continued till 1:30 pm. Dr. Mahbub Jahan Khan, Strategic Director of US Bangla Airlines, was invited as the session chair, who started the session with a brief introduction of the US Bangla Airlines and gradually dove deep into the talk of interview tips and tricks. His area of discussion covered the very basic know-how that every job-seeking graduate must know, including how to dress for an interview session, what the body gestures and posture should be during an interview, how to take control of an interview session, etc.

The entire session was very engaging and informative. To grace the event, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of GUB, was also present and gave invaluable advice to the graduates. The session ended with a question-and-answer segment, during which many participants had their queries answered.

 Demo Recruitment Session for GUB Graduates for Numerous openings @ US Bangla Group

On the 1st of March, 2025, for the aspiring graduates of Green University of Bangladesh, there are many lucrative openings at US Bangla Group. The entire session was designed to familiarise the graduates with the US Bangla Group recruitment process and how to face it. And hence, the whole session was divided into three (03) segments

  1. MS Excel test to assess the competency level in operating Excel
  2. An aptitude test to determine their level of intelligence
  3. A demo interview session to evaluate their job market readiness

Around fifty (50) graduates participated in this day-long session, which started at 9:00 am and continued till 4:25 pm. The enthusiasm and seriousness that the candidates demonstrated in each segment reflected their high level of passion towards pursuing their careers at US Bangla Group. The Pro-Vice ChancellorProf Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, also visited during the aptitude test to monitor the smooth conduct of the whole process. Overall, the demo recruitment session gave the participants a vibe of the real recruitment test.

Successful completion of Industrial Visit to Technonext

On Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, an industrial visit to Technonext Limited in the Baridhara Diplomatic Zone of Dhaka was completed. This visit was organised collaboratively by the Center for Career Development (CCD) and the Industry-Academia Collaboration Board of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at the Green University of Bangladesh. The main objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practices by providing students with valuable real-world exposure to the IT industry.

Twenty students of the CSE department were accompanied by two faculty members: Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib Tareq, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Director of the Center for Continuing Education (CCE), GUB, and Ms. Shamima Akter, Assistant Professor of CSE, GUB. They started their journey from the GUB permanent campus at 10:00 a.m. On arrival, the Head of HR, Mr. Kamrul Hasan, warmly welcomed them.

An interactive session featuring industry professionals, including a Q&A segment, was held. Md. Rafiqul Islam, the Group CTO of Technonext, and Mr. Aminul Islam, the Head of the PMO at Technonext, participated in this session. They addressed each question and offered valuable insights and guidance to the students regarding career prospects in the industry.

Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Head of HR, Technonext; Dr. Serajum Munira, Director, CCD, GUB; and Mr. M. K. Anamul Hoque, Officer, Center for Career Development (CCD), GUB, were also present.

After the Q&A session, students could visit the workstation and gain practical experience with industry professionals. They explained various topics, coding challenges, and the software development process in detail.

MoU Signing Ceremony with SEBPO

On 24th of January, 2024 (Wednesday), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CCD (Center for Career Development) and SEBPO (Service Engine Business Process Outsourcing). The MoU was signed by Abubakar Siddique, Manager Human Resource from the side of SEBPO and Mr. Saiful Islam, Registrar (Acting) from Green University of Bangladesh. During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Vice Chancellor (Acting) was also present. 

 

Campus Ambassador Program of Walton Digitech

On February 2nd, 2024, CCD called for CVs from the running students of GUB for the Campus Ambassador Program of Walton Digitech. 152 students submitted their CVs in response to the circular posted on the social media page of CCD where 62 CVs were shortlisted and forwarded to the concerned department of Walton Ditech to carry out the interview session. After the primary interview, it was announced that five (05) students had finally been shortlisted for the final interview for the Campus Ambassador Program.

GUB Alumni Get Together 2024

Friday, 9th of February, 2024, the most cherished Central Alumni Get-Together-2024 of Green University of Bangladesh has been organised by the Steering Committee of Central Alumni Association under the supervision of the Centre for Career Development & Alumni Affairs. Approximately 400 guests attended the program, including alumni from eight (08) departments of GUB and the vice chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Chairpersons, faculty, and administrative heads of each department. 

To grace the event, two esteemed personalities of the country were invited- Mustofa Jabbar, former Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Ministry and Jhuna Chowdhury, Cultural Personality, Posts and Telecommunications Ministry, as Chief Guest and Special Guest, respectively. The event arranged a concert where notable performers were invited to present their performances. Both the alumni and the current students enjoyed every bit of the event. The program continued till 8 pm at night.

 

MoU Signing Ceremony with Walton Digitech

CCD (Center for Career Development) came to a term to sign an MoU with Walton Digitech Ltd. and, as such, arranged the ceremony on February 29th, 2024. The event was attended by a few crucial personnel from both parties. The Registrar of Green University of Bangladesh, Captain (Navy) Shaikh Mohammad Salahuddin (LPR) and the CBO (Chief Business Officer), Touhidur Rahman Rad, signed the paper of collaboration. During the signing ceremony, 03 witnesses from each side were also present. This Mou aims to trade humans to Walton Digitech and transform them into resources.

Seminar on “Study and Research Opportunities in Japan

A seminar focused on “Study and Research Opportunities in Japan” was organised by IEEE SB GUB and IEEE CS SBC GUB association, IEEE CS BDC, Green University Computer Club (GUCC) in collaboration with the Centre for Career Development (CCD). The seminar occurred on March 05, 2024, at 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the Syndicate Room. The seminar delved into various aspects of studying and conducting research in Japan, including available programs, scholarships, and academic exchanges.

Dr. Ashir Ahmed, an Associate professor at Kyushu University, was invited to be the keynote speaker. He shared his insights, anecdotes, and practical advice to help participants navigate the opportunities and challenges of pursuing education and research in Japan. More than 100 students participated in the seminar.

Overall, this seminar is intended to offer an excellent networking opportunity to connect with other educators and professionals with the same interest in international education and research collaborations.

Green Alumni Election 2024-2026

The very first Central Alumni Election named as Green Alumni Election_2024-2026 was arranged on Friday, 17th of May, 2024at the premises of Green University of Bangladesh. It was a day-long event which started at 8:30 AM with the Registration and Distribution of Voter & Candidate ID Cards and continued till 6:00 PM by announcing the election result. There were 166 voters among them, 22 were candidates against 17 posts. Of the total number of candidates, 13 got elected without any contest. The remaining nine candidates contested against 04 posts- PresidentGeneral SecretaryTreasurer and Joint Secretary.

Mr. Mostofa Monon from the department of FTDM (former name of the department of JMC) was elected President of the committee. Mr. Mirajul Islam from Law, Mr. Salen from Law, and Mr. Md. Robiul Auwal from GBS were elected to the posts of general secretary, treasurer, and joint secretary, respectively.

The entire election was conducted under the close supervision of the Chief Election Commissioner, Registrar, Captain (Navy), S M Salahuddin (LPR), and two (02) Election Commissioners—Dr. Serajum Munira and Dr. Afzal Hossain Khan, and the members of the Surveillance Committee and Appellate Body were present.

Interactive Session on “Talent Acquisition & Opportunities at US Bangla Group

An Interactive Session on “Talent Acquisition & Career Opportunities at US Bangla Group” was organised by the Centre for Career Development of Green University of Bangladesh on Friday, 7th of June, 2024. Dr. Mahbub Jahan Khan, Air Commodore (Retd), Director of Strategic Planning & Transformation at US Bangla Airlines, was invited as the keynote speaker in that event. 220 students from eight departments of GUB registered to join the session, and a total of 77 students participated in the session. The whole session was engaging as the speaker involved the students in a back-and-forth questioning and answering session.

Farewell Reception & Oath Ceremony of the newly elected Green University Alumni Association Committee

As per the constitution of the Green University Alumni Association, the oath ceremony of the new Green University Alumni Committee was held on 07 June 2024in the permanent campus of Green University of Bangladesh. The Centre for Career Development & Alumni Affairs organised the ceremony in the presence of the competent and senior management of Green University of Bangladesh as part of the Central Election of Green University Alumni Association, held on 17 May 2024.

The program commenced with the welcome speech of Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of CCD & Alumni Affairs. Two members of the former steering committee Advocate Mr. Mahfuz Miraj (Former General Secretary of the steering committee) and Mr. Mostafa Monon (President of the former steering committee) addressed their speeches. He described the journey of forming the steering committee. As an advisor of the former steering committee of the Green Alumni, Professor Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir recognised the persistent and devoted contributions of the former steering committee members. He thanked them for being with them during the ups and downs of this journey.

Honourable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, also delivered his speech. In his speech, he explained the importance of the Alumni Association, the tentative activities of an Alumni Association and building networks among the Green University graduates and alumni members for their mutual benefits. 

The Oath-Taking Ceremony kicked off with the oath recitation of the new members of the committee. The election commissioner of the Green University alumni election committee, Dr. Serajum Munira, conducted the oath recitation. 

The final speech of the session was delivered by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin. In his remarks, the respected vice chancellor inspired them to uphold the pride of the Green University of Bangladesh through the alumni association’s activity and achieve the association’s goal, following the mission and vision of the association.

Among other senior members of the University, Professor Dr. Saiful Azad (Dean Faculty of sciences and Engineering); Professor Dr. M Shahidullah (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Professor Dr. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar (Distinguished Professor and Chairman, Dept. of Textile Engineering) and Professor Dr. Abul Hossain (Chairman, Dept. of Sociology and anthropology), Dr. Md. Afzal Hossain Khan (Associate Professor, Director of Student Affairs were present in the session.

MoU Signing Ceremony with Retail AI

CCD arranged the MoU signing ceremony with Cloud Production Ltd (Retail AI), a Japanese AI-based software development company, on Monday, June 10th, 2024, at noon in the Office of the Vice Chancellor. 

The ceremony was divided into two segments: First one was a brief presentation on the overview of the company which was given by the team visitors from Cloud Production Ltd. (Retail AI) in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean of Business Administration, Registrar, Director & Assistant Director of CCD along with the entire team and a few invited esteemed faculty members. The second one was the signing ceremony of the MoU, which took place where the Registrar, Captain (Navy), S M Salahuddin (LPR) acted as the signatory on behalf of Green University of Bangladesh and the Managing Director, Mr. Saidur Rahman, on behalf of Cloud Production Ltd. (Retail AI)

Seminar on “Career Guidance for CSE Graduates in Bangladesh

Green University Computer Club (GUCC) in collaboration with the Center for Career Development (CCD) hosted a seminar on “Career Guidance for CSE Graduates in Bangladesh” on July 11, 2024, in the Seminar Hall of the university. The seminar commenced at 10:00 am with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of CSE at Green University of Bangladesh, who expertly chaired the event. Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean of FSE and Director of IQAC at Green University of Bangladesh, also attended the event as a special guest. Mr. Sourav Borua, Assistant Director of CCD, delivered an impactful speech and provided essential career guidance to the participants.

The seminar keynote speaker was Mr. Anisul Islam, a Full-Stack Trainer at Integrify, Finland. During the Q&A session, he enlightened the whole session by actively engaging with the students.
The event featured a series of inspiring speeches and interactive sessions that provided valuable guidance to the CSE graduates.

On-Campus recruitment with “SEBPO”

On Friday, July 12, 2024, the Green University of Bangladesh arranged an on-campus recruitment with SEBPO. 144 GUB graduates registered for the test, which 54 students participated in. Three SEBPO professionals conducted the test. The entire recruitment was arranged and monitored by the Center for Career Development & Alumni Affairs.

Grooming Session on “Job Readiness and Career Prospects”

The Office of CCD arranged a grooming session titled “Job Readiness and Career Prospects” via Zoom on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 7:00 PM. Serajum Munira, Director of CCD, and Mr. Sourav Barua, Assistant Director of CCD, facilitated the session. A significant number of students—176 students in total—participated in the session.

The grooming session was structured into two segments. The first segment featured Mr. Sourav Barua, who shared valuable insights on CV-related matters. During the second segment, Dr. Serajum Munira guided students for interview preparation and offered useful advice on career readiness.

Arrangement of Internship Interview for CCD

On September 12, 2024, the office of CCD arranged the Internship Interview for the Spring-2024 session. The intent was to take in students as interns and allow them to obtain hands-on work experience before graduation. Around sixty (60) students from eight departments dropped their CVS in response to the circular for this internship.

The interview was conducted in two slots: the Director of CCD, Dr. Serajum Munira, and the Assistant Director of CCD, Mr. Sourav Barua. The viva commenced at 10:00 a.m. and continued until noon. After taking the viva of all sixty students, the office of CCD has finally been able to select the desired number of candidates for the internship program.

On-Campus recruitment with “ConnectAUZ PTY Ltd”

An On-Campus Recruitment with an Australian-based company, named Connectauz PTY Ltd., was organised at the premises of Green University of Bangladesh on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024.few students got the opportunity to participate in this on-campus recruitment interview session. Shan Rahman, CEO of ConnectAuz PTY, conducted the interview. The Office of CCD & Alumni Affairs arranged and monitored the entire recruitment.

LTD., an Australian-based software company. The event occurred on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh.

Seminar on “Professional Skill Development for Novice Graduates and Young Talents”

A seminar, titled as “Professional Skill Development for Novice Graduates and Young Talents” was organized by CCD which was held on Friday, 18th of October, 2024 at 2:30 PM in the Seminar Hall of Green University of Bangladesh.

Md facilitated the entire programTahamidur Rahman, as a Keynote Speaker, is the HR Manager of Foodie Express Ltd. It was a two-hour session in which the keynote speaker, Md. Tahamidur Rahman discussed the importance of a good CV in successfully landing a job. He also shed light on the areas of creating and maintaining a LinkedIn profile, approaching LinkedIn, and setting smart career objectives. 

Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, and Dr. Serajum Munira, Director of CCD, attended the event as Special Guests and Session Chairs, respectively.

Workshop on Compiled CV in LaTeX

The Centre for Career Development organised a workshop titled “Compile Your CV in LaTeX” on Friday, October 18th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., through the Zoom online platform.

Dr. Serajum Munira, the Director of the Center for Career Development (CCD), and Mr. Sourav Barua, the Assistant Director, chaired the session. The keynote speaker was Mr. Zahidul Hasan, Lecturer of the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering. During the workshop, the keynote speaker concentrated on the techniques for creating a curriculum vitae using LaTeX and elaborated on the most effective methods for saving the document to ensure its long-term preservation.

On-site Industrial Talk Session Titled “Workplace Ethics & Management”

An On-site Industrial Talk Session Titled “Workplace Ethics & Management” was organised by the Centre for Career Development, which was held on Friday, 22nd of November, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Admin Building, room no 605. 

The key facilitator was Mr. Abubakar Siddique, Manager—Human Resources of SEBPO. He thoughtfully explored the topic of workplace ethics, clarifying its definition and emphasising its importance for long-term career sustainability. The session was so engaging that many participants participated in the question-and-answer segment at the end. 

The session, lasting one hour, concluded at noon. Mr. Sourav Barua, the Assistant Director of CCD, graciously presented a crest and certificate to the key facilitator in recognition of his contribution.

The ceremony occurred during the 6th International Conference on Sustainable Technologies for Industry 5.0, which was held on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at 11:30 AM in the Syndicate Room (409) of Green University of Bangladesh. Tree Plantation Program-2024

This year, as in previous years, a nationwide tree-planting program was conducted from June 5, 2024, under the theme “Sajai Desh, Somriddho kori Bangladesh”. The Green University of Bangladesh has initiated a Tree Plantation Program in accordance with this central theme.

We are thrilled to share that our recent Tree Plantation Program, which ran from Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, to Wednesday, September 23rd, 2024, was a success. This tree-planting initiative was conducted by the Center for Career Development & Alumni Affairs in association with the Green University Alumni Association and the ECO Warriors Club. We planted Neem tree saplings gifted to us by one of the respected Alumni members, Mr. Kamrul Hasan, from the EEE department, 16th Batch. 

Our community collaborated in a collective effort to plant more than 200 trees across five educational institutions (AHB International School & College, South Point School and College, Murapara Government Degree College, Salimuddin Chowdhury University College & Hazi Rafizuddin Girls High School).

The respected Principal of AHB International School & College, Mrs. Ferdous Ara, Mr. Hafizur Rahman, principal of Murapara Degree College, Mr. Mohammad Billal Hossain, Head Master, Hazi Rafizuddin Girls High School, Wing Commander (Retd) A M Amjad Hussain, Principal, South Point School and College, and Mr. Md. Jahangir Malum, Principal, Salimuddin Chowdhury University College, were in attendance at the tree plantation program. Dr. Md. Shariful Alam, the esteemed moderator of the Green University Eco Warriors Club, Mr. M. K. Anamul Haque, the officer of CCD and Alumni Affairs, and members of the ECO Warriors club were also present. Respected principles expressed their solidarity with the Green University’s initiative and their commitment to providing future support.

Center for Career Development (CCD) perform the following activities in 2023:

Socialisation with the Students of PSD-400 (Spring-2023)

 On February 16th of 2023, CCD (Center for Career Development) organised an online Program titled “Socialisation with the Students of PSD-400 (Spring-2023)” via Zoom Platform with the students of the PLSD (Professional Life Skills Development) Course. Honourable Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, was the chief guest at the event.

Around 200 students of the PSD-400 course joined the program along with 10 CCFPs (Career Council Focal Person) from 08 different departments. Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Professor of the Department of English and Director of CLCS (Center for Language & Cultural Studies), gave the introductory speech of the event. This event aimed to familiarise the students with the PLSD (Professional Life Skills Development) course.

On-Campus Recruitment with “Call Point Business Solutions”

On April 12th of 2023 at 12:00 PM, Center for Career Development (CCD) of the Green University of Bangladesh organised an “On Campus Recruitment” with Call Point Business Solutions. A good number of students attended the interview session, and 12 got hired directly from campus.

GUB Alumni Association Iftar Party-2023

On April 7th of 2023, the Center for Career Development (CCD) and the Alumni Affairs office organised “GUB Alumni Association Iftar Party 2023” at the Green Garden (Building-A). Around 60 Alumni from 8 departments joined the iftar party.

The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Mr. Shamim Mondol, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, was the host. Then, the Registrar of GUB, Brig. Gen. Md. Mahboob Sarwar Ph.D (Retd), delivered the welcome speech. After that, Dr. Fayzur Rahman conducted a brief session about the duties and responsibilities of the alumni association.

Deans and Chairpersons from all the faculties and departments delivered valuable speeches. After the prayer break, the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), graced the program with his valuable and inspirational speech.

Finally, the program ended with an optimistic note that the “Alumni Association of Green University” will work for the university’s development.

Prize giving event of “Kahoot Game”

On May 19th of 2023 at 4:30 PM, the Center for Career Development (CCD), Green University of Bangladesh, arranged the prize-giving ceremony for the Kahoot Game winners, which was played during the “Socialisation with the Students of PSD-400 (Spring-2023)” via Zoom Platform on Bangladesh issues. Of around one hundred (100) students, 3 students ranked the top 3 positions. The winners are:

Webinar on “Success in UK Higher Education for a Better Career Opportunity”

On June 12, 2023, at 5:30 PM via Zoom Platform, the Center for Career Development (CCD), Green University of Bangladesh, in association with AHZ Associates Bangladesh, arranged a webinar for the students of GUB on higher studies and job opportunities in the UK. The webinar addressed some critical aspects of higher education and shed light on the opportunities and challenges aspiring students face.

The webinar is intended to guide students towards making informed decisions about their educational journey and empower them to excel in their chosen fields. The Webinar was chaired by Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Professor, Department of English & Director of CLCS (Center for Language and Cultural Studies), Green University of Bangladesh, and the session speaker was Md. Tanvir Hossain, Relationship & Business Development Manager of AHZ.

Workshop on “Mind mapping & Innovation”

On November 27th of 2023 at 3:00 PM, the Center for Career Development (CCD), Green University of Bangladesh, in association with Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd., organised a workshop titled “Mind Mapping & Innovation” by AppLink, which is a platform of Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Professor, Department of English & Director of CLCS (Center for Language and Cultural Studies), Green University of Bangladesh. Mr. Labib Bin Rahman, Developer Evangelist, Applink & Mr. Masud Mohiuddin, Trainee Developer Evangelist, AppLink, conducted the workshop.

Discussion on “Empowerment of the Youth through Collaboration”

On December 1st of 2023 at 10:00 AM, CCD organised a meeting with the CEO, Dr. Ajay Kela of Wadhwani Foundation, which is a USA-based non-profit organisation, the primary mission of which is to accelerate economic development by driving job creation through large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation and skilling. The meeting is entitled “Discussion on the Empowerment of the Youth through Collaboration”. The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor (acting), Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed. It was convened by Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Prof. Dept. of English and Director of CLCS (Center for Language & Cultural Studies).

Additional Task:

  • Organizing On-Campus-Recruitment: Organizations visit the university with HR/ Mgt. team for hunting talents
  • Arranging Job Fair: Joining in the job fair various organizations collect resumes, conduct interviews, organize workshops etc. on the campus.
